Konservasi Apel (Malus sylvestris) di Pekarangan Rumah Desa Gubuk Klakah, Poncokusumo Malang

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui persepsi masyarakat terkait tanaman apel di pekarangan rumah penduduk Desa Gubug Klakah, Malang. Persepsi masyarakat diketahui melalui kegiatan wawancara semi terstruktur dan pembagian kuisioner kepada responden yang terdiri dari key person dan perwakilan masyarakat yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat mempunyai persepsi yang baik terhadap pekarangan rumah dan tanaman apel di pekarangan rumah. Masyarakat menyatakan bahwa keberadaan apel terkait dengan manfaat dan fungsi ekonomi, ekologik, sosial dan peningkatan kualitas lingkungan tempat tinggal. Persepsi masyarakat yang tinggi berdampak positif terhadap usaha pengelolaan tanaman apel di pekarangan rumah.

Abstract
The objective of this paper is to determine the local people’s perception on apple (Malus sylvestris) population in home garden at Gubug Klakah village. In order to understand local people’s perception, semi-structured interviewed and questionnaires techniques were implemented. Results of the study showed that local people principally has good perception about apple plants in home garden. Apple in home garden provide economical, ecological and social benefits. The existence of apple in home garden contribute to visual quality of house environments. These perpective provide opportunities for apple conservation in home garden.
